Who Are We?
LLITT is a movement designed to set the world ablaze by centering people's literacies and highlighting the true purpose and power of literacy as a tool for liberation and a pathway to transformational education. By focusing on the critical role of literacy in personal and societal empowerment, LLITT seeks to inspire and equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to effect meaningful change. Our parent company, Education Consultation, amplifies this mission by offering comprehensive design and implementation services for workshops, training programs, tutoring sessions, and more. Through these tailored educational opportunities, Education Consultation aims to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth, ensuring that literacy serves as a foundation for liberation and transformational education across diverse communities.
LLITT Founder
Mo Thomas has advocated for effective literacy instruction for all students since she was 5. A product of a school system that didn't focus on anything more than her zip code, she has continued to fight for students to be seen as brilliant and taught in the same manner. She began organizing the LLITT movement in 2022 in response to the 'return to normal' after the lockdowns and devistation of COVID-19. and the disregard for purposeful learning experiences.

Liberatory Literacy is Transformational Teaching, It transcends the historical ideology of teaching. We believe that an amazing education should be accessible to all and that learning is not a one-size-fits-all event. Leanring is best when we allow learners to be a part of the process. Learning is for everyone and everyone deserves the freedom to learn. It is a civil right!
